What is Kangen water and is it safe?
Kangen water is electrically ionized water produced by Enagic devices. Enagic ionizers have medical certification from the Japanese Ministry of Health and are classified as medical devices. The technology has been used in Japanese hospitals for over 40 years. Kangen water is safe for the whole family, and neutral water (pH 7) is suitable even for infants.
How often should I change the pH level of Kangen water?
You don't have to do this every day. For daily drinking you use Kangen water at pH 8.5–9.5. The other types you activate in specific situations: pH 11 when washing vegetables or degreasing dishes, beauty water when caring for skin and hair, pH 2.5 when disinfecting surfaces. The ionizer switches with a single button in seconds.
Which Kangen water is best for drinking?
For adults, Kangen water at pH 9.5 is best for daily drinking. Those just starting out should drink pH 8.5 for the first 1–2 weeks, then move to pH 9.0 and finally pH 9.5. This gives the body time to get used to it. Water at pH 9.5 has the highest antioxidant potential (negative ORP) among drinking waters.
Can I cook all dishes with Kangen water at pH 9.5?
Yes, Kangen water at pH 8.5–9.5 is suitable for cooking. It improves the taste of dishes, gives soups a deeper aroma and makes vegetables keep more intense colors. The only exception is preparing food for infants — for that we use neutral water at pH 7. Coffee and tea brewed with Kangen water taste better — coffee is less bitter, tea gains a more intense color and aroma.
